"As a newly qualified primary school teacher Chapelside Primary in Airdrie was my first teaching post. I taught there for over 10 years."

St Andrews Hospice Airdrie - Wed 8 April 2009
Margaret had an extremely worthwhile meeting with Bob Reid, fund raising Co-ordinator and the Chief Executive Tom Gault which was followed by a tour of the hospice. Margaret was most impressed by the facilities, the caring ethos and the ground breaking palliative care work and education being carried out.

Funding raising is immensely important to the hospice and before she knew it Margaret found she and her constituency assistant Liz had volunteered to take part in the “Ladies Midsummer Midnight Walk on Saturday 20th June 2009 to help raise funds for the St Andrew’s Hospice-Caring for the People of Lanarkshire charity fund.
Whilst training is well underway involving copious coffees and home made scones to keep the two volunteer’s strength up! Unfortunatley both Margaret and Liz have family engagements which will not permit them to take part. Both breath a sigh of relief.
